Intrexx application receives an innovation award

The Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Labor and Social Affairs (SenIAS) receives the Administration Award 2020 for its Intrexx application for COVID-compliant workstation booking.

Pressemitteilung Nr. 02-2021
Social distancing is the order of the day – even in public administration offices. Because of this, SenIAS Berlin worked together with Intrexx partner Moysies & Partner to create a completely customized intranet application that allows the 2,100 employees to book their workstations digitally. The best part: By locking certain workstations, only workstations that are a COVID-compliant distance apart can be booked. This pioneering application was therefore promptly awarded the Berlin Administration Prize 2020. This was made possible by the low-code development software Intrexx from Freiburg.

Freiburg, February 18, 2021.
Special times call for special measures – this is what the Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Labor and Social Affairs (SenIAS) thought as well. SenIAS has developed a completely individual workstation booking application with the low-code development software Intrexx – which they were already using successfully for many internal projects and applications. The goal was to ensure administrative efficiency in addition to keeping staff safe and upholding the applicable distance guidelines. As an alternative to working from home, the application enables users to work at a safe workplace in the office building. This time-critical challenge was mastered thanks to the numerous advantages of low-code technology and the coordinated efforts of everyone involved.

Award for innovation

For this innovative solution, SenIAS won 1st place in the category “Process and Quality Management as well as Interdepartmental Collaboration” in the Berlin Administration Award 2020 awarded by the Governing Mayor of Berlin. The award honors projects that have contributed to the modernization of the administration.

A jury consisting of administrators and academics supported their decision by stating that this project was transferable to all authorities and could be implemented quickly. Additionally, it makes an immense contribution to improving flexible workstation management and working hours for all staff, even after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Numerous challenges were mastered with flexibility

The low-code features of Intrexx enabled them to fully and speedily implement their individual requirements. The application provides a graphical floor plan for each service building (department) and floor, including available workstations. With the help of this configured floor plan, staff can see whether and which workstations are already occupied at a glance after specifying their desired date. The occupancy status of the workstations is shown using traffic light colors: Green dots indicate free workstations, red dots indicate occupied workstations. All free places can be booked up to 14 days in advance by clicking on the desired workstation.

United Planet GmbH is proud to be able to provide Intrexx as the tool for rapidly digitalizing administrations, both during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, and congratulates the SenIAS and the Intrexx partner Moysies & Partner on their outstanding award.
