An overview of the most important changes
With version 12.2.0, the IX12 product generation has received a comprehensive update that brings both technical basics and concrete work improvements for administrators and developers.
The most noticeable change concerns the supported processor architectures. Intrexx now runs natively on Linux amd64 and aarch64, macOS amd64 and aarch64 as well as Windows amd64. This means that Intrexx is also completely at home on Apple Silicon; there is a separate migration guide for switching from AMD64 to ARM64 under macOS.
New interfaces for system integration
For system integration, 12.2.0 brings a new Groovy API for SSH, SFTP and SCP. This allows you to execute commands on remote servers and transfer files securely without having to resort to external tools.
Data protection: anonymization of deleted users
A topic with direct relevance to data protection is the new anonymization of user data from deleted users. Sensitive data can be automatically replaced with anonymized values, either immediately after a user is deleted or after a freely definable period of time. Which fields are affected and how the anonymization works in detail can be defined individually in the configuration dialog.
More comfort in everyday working life
There are also noticeable improvements in everyday work with Intrexx. The portal connection via command line has been expanded to include new options so that modules, applications or processes can be opened directly if necessary. In the “File Selection View” application element, ready-made templates for the connectors to SharePoint, Salesforce, Dracoon as well as Microsoft 365 and Teams are now available, provided the corresponding connection exists in the Integration module. Processes can also be triggered for the first time by starting the portal service itself, which opens up new automation scenarios when starting up a portal.
The email action in the process element now has a separate tab for the language configuration of subject and content, which simplifies multilingual portals with automated notifications.
Discontinuations and technical information
This version also discontinues older Intrexx Share versions (3.3.0 to 3.3.1 and 3.4.0) and support for the jTDS database driver; switching to the MSSQL driver is recommended here.
In addition to the highlights mentioned, the update contains over a hundred other bug fixes and minor improvements, from accessibility to multiple selection 2.0 to performance optimizations for charts and calendars.
